Kawanishi Baika

The Baika (Plum Blossom) was inspired by the German V-1 flying bomb. Intended as a special attacker (piloted suicide aircraft), the Baika was to be fitted with an undercarriage jettisonable after takeoff. The single Maru Ka-10 pulse jet was to be mounted either above the fuselage (as in the V-1) or beneath it. A 250kg explosive warhead was to be placed in the nose of the aircraft. When the war ended the Baika was still on the drawing board.
