Focke-Wulf Fw 190A5 (Fred)

In 1942 the code name "Fred" was the assigned by the Allies to the Focke-Wulf Fw 190, when it was (mistakenly) believed that this type was used by  the JAAF.  At the time the FW 190 not used operationally by the JAAF, though the Japanese actually validated the code name later in 1943, when a single FW 190 was imported by the JAAF for study. This test aircraft became the only "Fred" in Japanese service.
