Junkers Ju.87A Stuka (Irene)

Before the Pacific War began Japan had imported an example of the Ju.87A Stuka for study by the Army. It was placed on display at Tokorosawa Air Base in late 1940. It was thought that the Ju.87A would be used in quantity and the code name "Irene" was assigned to it by the Allies, one of the few names for a German aircraft that was correctly assigned. Needless to say, the Ju.87 was not used operationally by the JAAF.
