Mitsubishi J4M1 Senden ("Luke")

The J4M1 Senden (Flashing Lightning) was a design meant to provide the Navy with a high-performance interceptor fighter. It was projected that its Mitsubishi MK9D engine driving a four-blade pusher propeller would enable it to reach 437mph. It would have been armed with one 30mm cannon and two 20mm cannon. The design, however, was abandoned in favor of the Kyushu J7W1 Shinden aircraft.
