Douglas F-3 Havoc

(photo not available)

The F-3 was the photographic reconnaissance version of the A-20 attack aircraft.  All bombing equipment was removed, and T-3A cameras were fitted in the rear weapons bay. The first of these aircraft became the BD-1. 46 other aircraft (A-20J's and A-20K's) were converted for nocturnal reconnaissance. The reccon version was created by removing the 2 × 0.50 in (12,7 mm) fixed forward firing guns, and by adding cameras in the rear weapons bay, and photoflash bombs in the first weapons bay. Number converted: 88
